How an Automatic Sample Changer Works
An automatic sample changer works by moving the rack of samples to the left behind the grey housing and grabbing the next sample tube in the rack. As it does this, it counts the number of tubes in the rack and replaces them. The sample rack moves to the left toward the front of the instrument. As the rack reaches the left end, the changer has completed counting all of the tubes. Once this has occurred, the sample changer will move to the right.
Bruker SMART APEX X-ray diffractometer

The SMART APEX X-Ray Diffractometer features an automatic sample changer, as well as an integrated robotic system for preparing samples. The robot has an optical sample axis unit that offers point-and-click centring. An ISPyB database records sample details and data collection parameters. This database allows you to access the results generated by automatic processing pipelines.

Designed for high-throughput analysis of polycrystalline powder samples, the D8 system is a dedicated instrument for crystallography studies. The high-resolution detector system is ideal for determining crystal structures, and is equipped with a fast sample changer. Users can even operate the system remotely, which allows them to save beamtime and respond to urgent user access requests.
Gemini technology

When working with samples, a scientist often needs to change the sample to the next one for the same experiment, which is where Gemini technology comes in. The technology is able to change the sample at the click of a button. A scientist can choose from several different variants, which are displayed in a plot called an elevation plot. This plot lists the plan variants and their associated values. If the sample is the same in each variant, a geologist doesn't have to re-run the experiment several times to complete the experiments.

Biobanks typically store samples in several refrigerators and freezers, and maintaining equipment is critical to quality control. Manual processing has its limitations, and human involvement cannot be guaranteed to ensure complete process control. To solve this problem, Gemini Sampling Solutions developed manufacturing and design systems that do not rely on human intervention. As a result, these systems are designed to change the sample without human intervention. By automating this process, users can achieve greater efficiency and accuracy in sample preparation and storage.
BioSAXS

The BioSAXS Sample Changer is an automated sample changer that works seamlessly with the host beamline to offer a reliable platform for high-throughput measurements. In use since 2010, the BioSAXS is able to process hundreds of samples per minute and has a cycle time of less than 1 minute. Its high sample throughput allows users to look for subtle differences among samples. Because it is automated, it can clean samples quickly and cleanly.

The BioSAXS auto sample changer (ASC) offers automated data collection, data mounting, and analysis. This device integrates seamlessly with the SAXSLab software control system, providing a true beamline experience. The BioSAXS Auto Sample Changer is paired with the BioSAXS-2000. The BioSAXS 2000 has a wide variety of features, including multiple sample cleaning protocols, temperature-control and sample preparation.
Anton Paar

The Xsample 530 is the newest model of the Anton Paar Xsample automatic sample changer. Developed specifically for Anton Paar master instruments, this sample changer is built to handle a variety of samples. With controlled filling power, it can accommodate up to 36,000 mPa. Its easy-to-exchange magazine is capable of holding up to three cleaning agents. automatic sample changer Moreover, it features no compromises in mechanical components, superior resistance to chemicals, low maintenance costs, and active needle cleaning.

The Xsample series is Anton Paar's biggest family, featuring a variety of automation options. The Xsample filling units integrate with a variety of Anton Paar instrumentation, including beverage analysis systems. These systems can handle samples ranging from low to high viscosity and corrosive or solid. Automated measurements can also be performed overnight for immediate results. This gives users the freedom to focus on the science at hand.
