Bernhard Burgener, David Degen and their dispute concerning FC Basel's ownership is only the latest step. Bernhard Burgener Burgener's plans are supported by the Board of Directors. However, it's not possible to reach an agreement.

The Board of Directors relies upon an agreement between the parties that permits Burgener to sell its shares to minority shareholders under the same terms. According to the Board of Directors, this drag-along rights is preeminent over Degen's pre-sale rights.
Burgener's team has made an attempt to settle the ownership dispute. Degen would like to exercise his right of first refusal to 16.4 million Francs. Burgener is currently unable to sell his 80 per cent stake to Basel Dream & Vision AG due to a superprovisional order. The British asset manager Centricus will also be able to have an interest in the new entity. Burgener would hold the majority of the votes.
