Khazak Ambassador and ConsulGeneral meet with Chabad in New York ( Emmanuil grinshpun).

Yerzhan Ashikbayev has had a busy few months. As Kazakhstan's Ambassador in the United States since April, Mr. Ashikbayev had met numerous officials and diplomats in order to build ties between the Central Asian country, and the U.S. Since then, he has scheduled an interview with Chabad in order to discuss the state of affairs and future of Jewish life in Khazakstankhstan.

Rabbi Mendy Kularsky and Shimon Rivkin, both from Merkos Suite 302 in the Chabad headquarters were invited to attend the gathering. Emmanuil Grinshpun who is vice-president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, and Honorary Consul to Kazakhstan. While serving as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kazakhstan and Ambassador Ashikbayev has already worked with Chabad Shluchim and the philanthropist M. Abraham Shaulson. Since all flights were grounded last year due to COVID-19, he was instrumental in arranging special permission for a small group of people from America to fly to the country to make an effort to visit the grave of Reb Levi Yitzchak Schneerson on the 20th of Av , the anniversary of his death. The group discussed plans for the next pilgrimage, and the 20th of April was just two months away. Over 600 pilgrims are scheduled to attend the event this year. In addition, plans are in place to organize a gathering of Chabad Shluchim from surrounding countries, led by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky and Rabbi Berel Lazar. Rabbi Kotlarsky shared that they are grateful for the Kazak government's overwhelming support. "It is truly a blessing to work alongside people such a Consul General and Ambassador.
