Young DJs must invest in music that is of high quality. It's not sensible to perform with low bitrate music.

I am not DJ. This is my mantra. I was a DJ in high college and afterward and all I could do was repeat what someone else did elsewhere. Being a DJ, I had no idea or ear to be honest. I was often unable to hear the beat, and change to 7th instead of 8th. There were a lot of other things that made DJing impossible. But I am a good listener. I can tell when the DJ is offbeat I'm able to see when they are making mistakes but I am unable to think of doing what they do - entertain people none-stop for hours..

If you're considering becoming DJ, you shouldn't be discouraged. You shouldn't let my story keep you from pursuing your plans. You can choose to be who you wish and become the person you prefer. This is my way of dealing with people. Do what you love and be the person you want to be. However, DJs are like that who require constant support to grasp reality.. It's helpful to help them see what is happening around them. Because Youtube music should not be converted to mp3 by new DJs, not only is it against their TOS, but due to the poor quality of the sound. Bitrate is the sound output from any music video. I hope that you don't get confused by these numbers. If you're a DJ/computer audiophile like me you'll see that mp3 can store up to 320 kbps in audio quality. It's great, but it doesn't have the same sound quality as mp3 which is compressed by eliminating high and low frequencies. This means that the final sound is missing something. If you listen to deep house music at 320kbps, it won't sound that deep. You can even compare it to playing it off a viynil.

You shouldn't waste your time or money buying low-quality copies of songs as a novice DJ. Beatport, Juno Download, and Fruity Loops offer great sound collections that can be used to create remixes. It's going to sound fantastic with its deep bass even when you include the bass of a lower quality MP3. This is exactly what mp3 sound misses, great bass.

However, that shouldn't cause DJs to feel uncomfortable. You can improve your sound each day. Isn't this what makes you a master performer and entertainer? It's best to invest in the equipment that you employ to create the most powerful sounds, the ideal mood for dancing at clubs and the most enjoyable time that club members can enjoy. If you can provide them with great beats, they will come back. It's the rule.
