How to keep up with the music of your home country even though you've lived in the country for the last 10+ years

What do you do? I am an Russki youngster who came to America in search of a better future. In Russia I was not prosperous. I was poor. My family was not my, per se. As a child in Russia the young people didn't have money. So we had to find other ways to make money. There were a variety of schemes. Most of them looked like drunks asking their friends for a few dollars to buy their vodka bottles. It was similar. We looked for ways to earn some money so that we could purchase bread. We were always hungry.

So, I reached America. There's nothing like New York, Brooklyn or Brighton Beach. The place is truly reminiscent of home. It's noisy and filthy, people are rude and it's full Russian speech. I've spent quite a bit of money there, mostly visiting Russian restaurants and book and music stores.

Music is my obsession and books are my most loved. It turns out that it's easy to find Russian literature via Kindle. This is why I no longer buy books in hardcopy. In addition, I don't have enough space in my home. My wife is an over-seller. Therefore, I do all I can to avoid adding to her pile of stuff. Although piles and piles of books looked smart in the beginning, once they became old, they looked dull and dull. After that I moved them to my garage.

Music is a different thing. Since my job involves driving often, I listen to lots of music. Because I am a Russian citizen, there's no way for me to enjoy new music in the USA. I simply don't like rap, hip hop metal, rock, and pop. It's all the modern music that kids want to dance to. Old Russian music is my favorite music, particularly the ones with prison themes. These songs remain popular in Russia after twenty years. They aren't on CDs. They are mostly tapes in cars and YouTube videos. Youtube currently has all the information. YouTube is my favorite music site. I am on it at all times, whether I am at home or working.


After some time, I discovered an endless playlist of more than 300 songs that I enjoy. This playlist is a precious chest of music I listen to on repeat throughout the day. It includes over 300 songs. However, when I want the songs to be heard in my car, I don’t always have access to the internet. I require it to drive, for navigation. Therefore, I prepare at home. I'm currently in the middle. I upload a handful of songs to Youtube as mp3 files. After that I burn the MP3s to CDs using my computer. Next I drive the CD to my car to listen. This website that I discovered, it can take Youtube playlist and print out all the songs in it. Each song can then be converted into MP3 and saved on my personal computer. It's then simple to convert it to an audio CD. Sometimes I'm not sure and just make dataCD. It's simple to transfer it onto audio CD. If audio files are recorded, it's amazing the way technology operates. You don't need to be online to listen to mp3s, all I need is a CD to insert into the stereo slot in my car. The music of Russia was blasting in Manhattan while I drove around.

It's easy to get videos on Youtube and save them as MP3 files. Then, you can save them to your Smartphone. A friend of mine connected his iPhone to the car stereo and within minutes, it was playing very excellent sound quality. Also, it was feasible to stream Spotify and Pandora radio, which means there's no need for a lot of internet. It's something I'm likely try in the near future. But of course I will be sure to use free WiFi.
