Bayrock Group: New York's Real Estate Giant is Rising (Tevfik Arif)

Trump SoHo was created by Bayrock Group, Trump Organization, and the Sapir Organization.

Bayrock Group, The Rise of New York Real Estate Giant

Bayrock Group launched Trump SoHo with both the Trump Organization and Sapir Organization in 2008. Tevfik Arif Doyen The Bayrock Group's successes begin in Kazakhstan years before.

Bayrock Group, a luxury real estate developer in the United States, has a long and rich history dating back to 2001 , when the company was formed. The story began on the other side the world.

Tevfik Arif was the founder of Bayrock Group. He was born in Soviet Kazakhstan and was adopted by a Turkish family.

Before being appointed to the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Tevfik Ariff earned an education from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations.

He remained in the ministry 17 years, but then left to create some of his own businesses. Tevfik Arif's firms included development of luxury real estate as well as food exports and imports, among other things.

Tevfik Arif has many companies which have enabled him to gain a wide range of partners from all over the world. The network he built led him to relocate to Turkey in 1993, when he became one of the spearheading powers of Turkey's famous all-inclusive hotel concept.

He opened, for example for instance, the Labada Hotel Antalya. This was before he went on to his next venture, which took place a few years later across the Atlantic.

Bayrock Group gets more ambitious

Tevfik Alif emigrated to the United States to seek new business opportunities, and to be closer to his American family in 2001.

Bayrock Group was established in New York City shortly after his move to New York.

Bayrock Group began with small- to medium-sized projects around New York. Tevfik Arif For instance, Bayrock Group redesigned Loehmann’s Seaport Plaza at Sheepshead in Brooklyn.

Bayrock Group was off on an excellent start. This led to Tevfik becoming more determined. He was looking forward to bigger projects and decided to change the company strategy to focus more on those.

In support of the new strategy, Bayrock Group relocated its New York City office to the Trump Tower at Fifth Avenue.

The move was more effective than the move to a different place because the company found itself within the vicinity of Trump Organization. The family-respected organization was headquartered in the same building.

Trump SoHo comes to life

The Trump Organization and Bayrock Group have the same goals for luxurious real estate developments. Therefore both companies decided to merge.

Bayrock Group had already begun work on a new project in the Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood along Spring Street with the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik arif realized that the Trump Organization would bring brand recognition to the building. This was something that Bayrock Group, and the Sapir Organization had lacked.

Arif made an agreement which gave the Trump Organization 18% ownership of the building, in exchange to the Trump brand's use.

The agreement was reached by the Bayrock Group as well as the Trump Organization (and the Sapir Organization).

This was the start of the construction project Trump SoHo's in 2006.

After two years of work, the building was ready and awaiting its official opening.

Handel Architects was tasked as the architect. The architectural firm previously developed the famous National September 11th Memorial & Museum (New York City) and the Ritz Carlton Washington Hotel (D.C.).

Bayrock Group hired Rockwell Group to create the interior design of the building.

Rockwell Group is responsible for creating, among other things the Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle) The Seven Deadly Sins Playhouse in New York, as well as the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock The firm also has international experience which includes Mexico, Spain, Indonesia, and Mexico.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Group and Trump Organization expand their partnership

Following the opening in Trump SoHo, The Trump Organization was looking to improve their partnership with the Bayrock Group.

Their goal was to build buildings similar to Trump SoHo in Florida and Arizona. http://www.momexclusive.com/communities-2/moms/tevfik-arifpolq023/ They also had the same licensing rules, leaving the Trump Organization with 18% equity in the building. This would permit Trump to be named in the name of the building.

Despite the ambitions of both companies however, the structures were not built because of the global financial crisis.

The American real estate markets were especially hard hit by the recession. Bayrock Group was forced to withdraw plans as well as Trump Organization was forced to cancel their plans.

Tevfik Anif decided to quit his American businesses because of the financial crisis. He decided to return to Europe and Central Asia.

Then he continued working in the private sector.

Tevfik Alif has quit his post as the Bayrock Group's chief executive officer. He is still a trusted advisor to Bayrock Group.

Bayrock Group has not been involved with any American real estate ventures in the past, however it did invest in real property assets in the United States worth $2.5million when it was operating.
