Bayrock Group, along with the Trump Organization, opened Trump SoHo in 2008, along with the Sapir Organization. Bayrock Group's success story begins in Kazakhstan several decades ago.

Tevfik Arif is the founder of Bayrock Group. Tevfik Arif Doyen He was born in Soviet Kazakhstan and was adopted by an Turkish family.

Prior to being appointed to the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Tevfik Ariff earned an academic degree from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations.

Tevfik Arif’s businesses were in the luxury food, real estate, and exports/imports sectors as well as other sectors.

Through his various businesses, Tevfik Arif acquired a wide array of worldwide partners. The network he built led him to relocate to Turkey in 1993, where he became one of the spearheading powers behind Turkey's famous all-inclusive hotel concept.

For instance, he started the Labada Hotel Antalya, before embarking on his next venture across the Atlantic several more years later.

Bayrock Group gets more ambitious

Tevfik Alif emigrated to the United States to seek new opportunities in business, and also to be closer to his American family in 2001.

Bayrock Group was established in New York City shortly after the move of the founder.

Bayrock Group began with smallto medium-sized projects throughout New York. For instance, the company renovated Loehmann's Seaport Plaza shopping center in Brooklyn's Sheepshead.

Bayrock Group was a solid start. It made Tevfik more determined. He was keen to take on bigger projects and decided to alter the strategy of the company to focus more on those.

Bayrock Group moved its New York City offices to the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue to accompany the change in strategy.

The move was able to yield much more than the previous location, as it got the company close to the Trump Organization. This was the home of the family's world-renowned organization.

The Trump Organization and Bayrock Group shared the same vision of luxury real estate projects. Thus both companies decided to merge.

Bayrock Group was already collaborating with the Sapir Organization to complete another project in Spring Street, Manhattan's SoHo quarter.

Tevfik Arif was aware that the Trump Organization's participation in this project would give the building an identity that Bayrock Group or the Sapir Organization did not have.

Arif wrote an agreement that grants the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building in exchange for usage of the Trump brand under its name.

The proposed deal was accepted by Bayrock Group (the Trump Organization) as well as the Sapir Organization (the Sapir Organization).

That opened the doors to Trump SoHo, which would be the first brick laid in 2006.

The structure was ready for its official opening after being built over a period of two years.

Trump SoHo was built by design experts

Rockwell Group designed, among others among other things, the Climate Pledge Arena as well as the Seven Deadly Sins Theatre in Seattle. The Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas was also designed by the group.

International experiences are also available from countries such as Spain, Mexico, and Indonesia.

Bayrock Group, Trump Organization strengthen their collaboration

The Bayrock Group and Trump Organization were looking to expand their relationship following the opening of Trump SoHo's opening.

Their goal was to build structures in Arizona and Florida that resembled Trump SoHo. They also had the same licensing terms, leaving the Trump Organization with 18% equity in the building. This would permit Trump to be named as part of the name of the building.

Despite the ambitions of both companies they were not built because of the 2008 global financial crisis.

The American real estate markets were especially hard hit by the financial crisis. Bayrock Group was forced to abandon plans as well as Trump Organization was forced to pull out of their plans.

Tevfik arif resigned from his United States enterprises after the financial crisis. He decided to move back to Europe or Central Asia.

There, he continued working in the private sector.

Tevfik Alif has resigned as Bayrock Group's chief executive officer. However, he is still a trusted consultant to the company.

Bayrock Group has not been involved with any American real estate projects in recent years, but it did invest in real estate assets in the United States worth $2.5million when it was operating.
