Many of us remember being first introduced to Minecraft by Microsoft when it announced that it would pay $2.5bn (PS1.5bn) for the company that created the most-selling videogame.

Game of Thrones
Mapmakers WesterosCraft is on a mission: to recreate the world that George RR Martin created in the Game of Thrones books. The goal is to create an opportunity for roleplaying in the fantasy world.
A working 16-bit computer
In just two weeks, a Minecraft gamer named ohmganesha created a 16-bit computer. The virtual computer has 32 bytes RAM (random-access memory) and 256 bytes of ROM (read only memory).
This Cathedral
Patrix who was the architect of the edifice claimed that it took him only two nights to build. He said that he had never been inside the cathedral in person.
A working hard drive
Cody Littley's hard drive can store one kilobyte data. This may seem small when compared to ordinary discs. But when you think about that Mr. Littley, a Texas computer science PhD student, built it piece-by-piece.
An entire city
The Aurora City Project artists admit that the project may never be finished. However, the intricate cityscapes prove the reason. Here are several images.
All of Denmark
To help children learn, the Danish government decided to map the entire country using Minecraft. However the project was later destroyed, with parts of the landscape blown up using virtual "dynamite".
A playable guitar
Minecraft creator Disco's cyber guitar can play 10 chords that are basic open chords. A demo can be viewed here.
