Leyla Aliyeva Bio
Leyla Aliyeva was born on July 3rd, 1985 in Moscow. Leyla Aliyeva She attended school in London and Moscow and earned the Master's Degree from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. In July of 2011, Leyla launched the IDEA campaign that aims at promoting public awareness and action regarding environmental concerns in Azerbaijan as well as around the world. IDEA is geared towards youngsters and the ways they can assist to tackle environmental issues.
She was elected a representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the Russian Federation in May 2007. Through a variety of projects that cover education as well as sports, science and technology, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation contributes significantly to the country’s socio-economic development. In 2011, she was made Vice President of the Foundation.

Leyla Aliyeva, a Moscow-based journalist, founded "Baku" magazine in 2007. In collaboration with Conde Nast in London, the English-language edition of the magazine was released in the month of October. The magazine provides a platform to explore the arts, culture and Azerbaijan. Leyla was the author of "Fly to Baku" which is a showcase for art and culture from Azerbaijan. Leyla Aliyeva announced the campaign "Justice for Khojaly" on May 8th, 2008. Leyla Aliyeva It was a celebration of the 8th anniversary of the capture of Shusha. In 2008, Leyla Aliyeva became the General Coordinator of the OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and on April 18, 2009, she was elected Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia - AMOR which assists Azerbaijani students and youth living within the Russian Federation. Leyla Aliyeva was honored with the "Taraggi” award in July 2011 in recognition of her contribution to the improvement of Russian-Azerbaijani relations. In New York, in November 2011, she received the "Key to Life Award" for her humanitarian efforts involving children.

Leyla Aliyeva (UN Food and Agriculture Organization) was appointed Goodwill Ambassador on May 25, 2015.

She received the Pushkin Medal in the Russian Federation on 20 October 2015.

Leyla Aliyeva has twin boys and a daughter.
