Minecraft's moderation and reporting features were first launched last month, but quickly received criticism from the community for not being suited to the task. Mojang has confirmed that they will continue to use the tools, despite some harsh criticisms and reasoning.
MojangMeesh (the community manager on Reddit) posted a post explaining his decision. "We appreciate and value all feedback, however it does not mean that feedback will ever alter the principles of design Mojang Studios follows . This includes the new reporting system." The second paragraph in the comment states that players have been commenting on complaints made by Mojang employees. Harassment is bad, which is actually the reason for the reporting features in the first place.
A lot of players responded to this post by stating that they don't feel listened to. They believe that every Minecraft server a safe haven and shouldn't have to be moderated. Prioritygame.com These features can be removed from your server using Spigot or CurseForge mods.
In the end, if there aren't any complaints or discussions are taking place to change the features then it's natural that players might feel put out. Many players have more than a decade of experience in this game and, as adults, believe that they shouldn't be watched. However, it's also important to keep in mind that Minecraft is a game that's filled with children therefore there need to be security measures in place to keep them from harm. It's not like anything will change anytime soon , however.
