A true Nintendo Wii gaming PC now is available, and the small stealth rig is able to run Minecraft at 4K resolution. The custom-built build can handle competitive favourites like Fortnite and Rocket League, thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 APU and a few clever console shell changes.
AlexTriesTech developed the Nintendo Wii gaming computer, called 'WiiC'. It is a low-spec console disguised as a family console. While the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U powered machine can play Wii games using Dolphin It's also a full-featured Windows 11 system that'll run an entire portion of your Steam library.
AlexTriesTech has modified the WiiC's motherboard to fit inside the Nintendo Wii's compact chassis. Naturally, the build ditches extras like Gamecube controller ports and its disc drive, which makes everything fit. The sell features modifications that enhance airflow, stop CPU throttling, and ultimately increase fps.
Although the project took months of hard work, the final product looks just like the fully functional Nintendo Wii. It even features RGB lighting that replicates the blue glow of the original console’s disc slot.
Although the Wii stealth rig could sound like an oddity, tests show that it's much more than a joke. The micro-computer is able to crank out more than 100fps in Fornite, can run Rainbow Six: Siege at 1080p and 60fps and Shadow of the Tomb Raider is just about playable on a compact PC. minecraft servers As mentioned previously it can run Minecraft at 4K, so you can pair it up with the most powerful gaming monitor to play the classic block game in the highest resolution.
In the past, we had decided that the Queen's Golden Wii should be turned into the best gaming PC, but we're happy to go with AlexTriesTech's invention. On first glance you might think it's that old thing you used to bowl and tennis on with your Nan and that's what makes it so special.
