Amazon was today wrapping up its first phone. It will be announced by Jeff Bezos within hours.



It is believed the the device will use retina-tracking technology that makes images on the display of the smartphone appear to float above the screen' and appear three-dimensional at all angles.'



It is believed that the handset will initially be offered in the US only by AT&T in an arrangement that is similar to the launch of the original iPhone.



The rumored holophone from Amazon will be unveiled on June 18. The retailer has released a teaser on Wednesday, showing people's reactions to the handset. Images of the phone have were previously released online. The most recent images (pictured) reveal a relatively slim handset that looks similar to Apple's iPhone



The rumoured deal has already angered AT&T's rivals,



Seattle T-Mobile's chief executive, John Legere, tweeted, 'Really, @Amazon? What happened to pride in your hometown?'



Before, images of the phone were leaked online.



It is being developed at Lab126, Amazon’s secretive Silicon Valley hardware unit.



More than 1,600 users claim Lab126 as their employer on the professional-oriented networking site LinkedIn According to Business Week.



The latest images also show a relatively thin handset - which resembles Apple's iPhone.



BGR said that a variety of trusted sources have confirmed the authenticity of the image. The image was created by Amazon graphic designers for internal use.



The handset seems to be inspired by Google's Nexus handset as well as Apple's iPhone 5.



BGR said that the phone will look similar to other full-touch smartphones available, as seen in the latest image.

"In fact it appears that it is taking design cues form several phones, including Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S line. The HTC One has a polished, chamfered look much like the Amazon phone.



The handset is believed come with a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution of 720p as well as the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and six individual camera modules to create the 3D effect.



It will run a customized version of Google's Android OS similar to that is found on Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets.



The Amazon handset has an edge that is beveled, similar to apple's iPhone 5



The site previously obtained images of the handset within protective cases.
