Minecraft has been updated to pay tribute to the streamer Technoblade who passed away from cancer was announced by his family this week. The splash image for Minecraft in the game's launcher now has the pig sporting a gold crown - a callout to Technoblade's Minecraft character and a royal pig-man sporting the bejeweled crown.
Friday's tweet from the Minecraft team stated that they were "heartbroken" by Technoblade's death and that he "brought such happiness to the community of gamers."

We've been trying to find the right words but we're all hurt by the loss Technoblade. He was a great friend to our community and brought so many joy. He will be missed greatly.
Technoblade was a hugely popular Minecraft streamer with more than 13 million subscribers on YouTube, and was part of the popular server Dream SMP. In a YouTube video that was released on Thursday, Technoblade's father read a message from the streamer and discussed the work that went into creating this final video as he battled cancer. As of this writing the video has more than 54 million views.
Tributes to Technoblade have poured in from other streamers and members of the Minecraft creator community. Many pieces of fanart were also posted to Twitter in memory of Technoblade during the past days.
Although the Minecraft team hasn’t yet acknowledged the splash screen update, it evidently made this minor change as a tribute. Although the original launcher picture still has the same pig in the same location but it does not feature Technoblade's trademark crown.
