Minecraft's ray tracing feature for Windows 10 has made its release from beta eight months after the feature first became available for users to test. The sandbox game's aesthetics have been transformed by the addition the ability to trace rays to NVIDIA's RTX graphic cards. We've previously mentioned that Minecraft is more immersive because of the realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows it creates. While the game remains very simple, the game's lighting looks real. Shadows and reflections can make it appear as if you're in the real world.
You'll be able see the benefits of ray-tracing in the game if are using a computer equipped with one of NVIDIA GPUs that are capable of the ray-tracing. The benefits it offers will only be apparent in worlds and maps which use a particular physically based rendering texture pack, but you don't have to activate it - it's already turned on by default. Other players who don't have access to this feature will simply see those worlds with normal visuals.
NVIDIA announced that ray tracing places more stress on your GPU. This is why it utilizes its DLSSAI rendering technology to ensure Minecraft runs at least 60 frames per second, at a resolution of 1080x 1920. Advanced GPU models (RTX 3080 and 3090) are able to run the game at 4K with over 60FPS.

You can download worlds that you can play with ray tracing on from the Marketplace or create your own using help from NVIDIA's starter packs, if you need it. Minecraft and NVIDIA are also making two new worlds available for free: Colosseum RTX is already available, while Dungeon Dash RTX will be released shortly.
