Protect yourself from EMFs
Some people claim that blocking the EMF radiation from our environment is good for our health, but this has not been proven. There are no specific guidelines for EMF radiation levels, and the effects of overexposure have not been adequately studied. Nevertheless, limiting your exposure to EMF radiation is always recommended for your health and safety. Fortunately, most EMF radiation is not dangerous. This radiation is natural and has existed for billions upon billions of years. In fact, most of it is visible to us as sunlight.

The EPA does not recommend a limit on low-level ionizing radiation.
A former health physicist and former employee of the Sandia National Laboratories, one of three major nuclear weapons design centers, is calling for EPA to set limits on exposure to low-level ionizing radiation. Scott Pruitt, EPA Administrator, received a copy from him. While he didn't like Pruitt's anti-science stance, he thought the time was right to relax radiation standards.

The EPA regulates both man-made and natural radiation. The human physiology cannot distinguish between them, but the radiation energy determines the health effects.

Protective metal shielding
You can shield your electromagnetic devices with a wide range of materials. Because of its high conductivity, non-ferrous nature, metal is a popular choice. Other common materials include carbon steel, pre-tin-plated steel, and copper. For some shielding purposes, silicone filled with metal particles can also be used. These materials are ideal for electronics because of their excellent conductivity and weather resistance.

Paint

EMF shielding paint is not like other paints. It does not emit harmful ions and vapors. It is non-toxic, breathable, and frost-resistant. It can be used on most painted surfaces, including walls and windows. It is also non-conductive so you don't need to ground walls before applying it.

In addition to paint, there are other EMF shielding materials, including metal siding and window cling. Among them, EMF shielding paint uses nickel flake, a highly conductive material that shields only the electric component of electromagnetic waves. These paints require no heat cure or letdown, and can be applied by brush or spray. They bond well to a variety of plastics. Moreover, they can be painted over with common architectural paints.

Clothing
There are many types of clothing on the market made from materials that protect the body from harmful electromagnetic field (EMFs). Anti-EMF clothing includes t-shirts, jackets, underwear, socks, and gloves. Anti-EMF clothing is made from special metallic threading to block EMFs. Most manufacturers use silver or copper, nickel, and stainless steel.

Radiation shielding apparels protect against radio frequencies and harmful electromagnetic frequencies. These clothing provide comfort and protection from harmful EMFs.

Smart meters
Although the devices are supposed to be protected from EMF, there are still concerns about their health risks. These include changes in sleep patterns, hyperactivity, and endocrine system problems. They can also cause flu-like symptoms or cardiac problems. Furthermore, they can cause memory loss and headaches. The good news is that there are ways to minimize their harmful effects.

Smart meters transmit data via wireless signals. The power density of these signals is only a few microwatts, or mW, per square meter. The duty cycle of these signals can vary depending on the utility provider, but most do not exceed 5%. Smart Meters can also offer additional services that may be optional.
