Are you familiar with Minecraft? It has many fans however, I'm sure you've heard of it. Minecraft is a game of building with blocks in any way you can imagine. It's a game that promotes imagination and building. Players can build structures out of cubes that are textured in a 3D environment. Gameplay in its commercial release includes two main modes that are Survival which requires players to acquire resources by themselves and maintain their health and food; and Creative, where the player has unlimited resources, the ability to fly, and no concept of health or hunger.
For birthdays, our kids awake to a home packed with birthday decorations.
For the table setting, I created Minecraft plates and cups. I glued an Minecraft face on the cups. I used a Minecraft face to stick the cups. Then I hot glued an uncolored plate to the top.
Minecraft blocks were used as table decorations. just another wordpress site I also hung them from the ceiling.
They were loved by the children.
Follow this link to create the Minecraft blocks: The Ultimate Guide to Minecraft Paper Products. They were actually quite simple to make.
I made my son's creeper shirt with freezer paper stencils.
I printed a few Minecraft images for an invitation to a birthday. Then I used a Minecraft word generator (to add the words I wanted to add) to the Creeper signs. This generator can be found here: Minecraft MemeGenerator
I purchased the Minecraft photo ax, and then used the packaging to create another sign with a decorative design. I created the Minecraft Steve heads with glue, paper, and card board boxes.
The Steve heads were a big success with the kids. Here's a picture of my boys and the Steve heads in the morning before school.
You can purchase Steve heads online, but it was much cheaper to make them, particularly when I made four of them.
I discovered the Steve head template and directions here: SteveLange.net
For a snack in the afternoon I made block brownies.
I made a Creeper Birthday Cake with green frosting, chocolate bars, and chocolate chips.
It was a Creeper-filled Minecraft birthday celebration.
I am linking this post up to Works-For-Me-Wednesday.
My son's excitement about his birthday party was inspiring to me. I spent a lot time searching for ideas on the internet. These ideas and links will be a huge help to anyone who is a Minecraft fan at home.
