To further my point take a look at McCain's conservative score according to the The American Conservative Union. In 2006 McCain scored a 65 (with 100 being the most conservative). Looking at the overall trend, he started out near 100 and took a huge fall in the 90's, plummeting to under 70. Proving that McCain really was the conservative who lost his way.

There is no Democrat who can beat them in the primary and no credible Republican opponents. John McCain has been a George Bush lap dog on any issue of importance and he is such an obviously calculating politician, he probably can't win the Republican primary. By now, sixty percent of the voters can recognize a Republican lie when they hear it and they yearn for Democrat lies, which Hillary will supply in abundance.

Voters in the U.S. are just as smart (I think) as those in Canada, the U.K., Greece or wherever. We really could also 'get it' after having it hammered at us for only a month or so.

Why is that? Canadian law doesn't limit how long politicians can campaign, but it does strictly limit how much money they can spend on a campaign. That's no matter if it's the candidate's own money, or money contributed by supporters or special interests. And Canada seems to have been a pretty well run country over the years.

When I visited Alaska almost 20 years ago, I was told by the tour guide that of all the states in the nation, Alaska had the highest incidents of rape. This makes sense if you have every visited Nome, where there are more bars on every street corner than in NYC. Yet, visit here as Governor of Alaska has not addressed this problem. Why should she? She does not believe in abortion in cases of rape or incest. A Governor is supposed to act on behalf of the people she represents, regardless of her own beliefs.

As an American, I am ashamed at the Republican Party in particular and some of the populous in general, who have continually attacked Barak Obama. What is the fear? Why is prejudice and racism rearing its ugly head now; at a time when we desperately need someone with a vision, someone with a calm reasoning, someone who is young, vibrant, and able to effectively deal with the many problems facing us as one nation.
