How To Play Minecraft (Beginner's Guide)

Unlike normal video games, Minecraft allows you to have control over the game. Games It even has options allowing players to act as moderators, and to build their own modding/coding directly into the game!



Logging into the main menu and log in



This list explains what you can do after you click on the buttons in the main menu:



SinglePlayer: Start or stop a basic game. The remaining portion of this article explains the options to start the game in SinglePlayer mode.



MultiPlayer: Connect to other players online



Languages Change the language of the text in Minecraft. The tiny button to the left of the Options button will display the speech bubble and a globe.



- Options: Manage game settings such as sound, graphics and mouse controls levels of difficulty, as well as general settings.



- Quit Game Close the browser, unless you're in In-Browser mode.



Start your first game in SinglePlayer mode.



1. To view a complete listing of all worlds, click the SinglePlayer button



If you're only starting out in Minecraft This list should be blank.



2. To create a brand new game Click the Create New World button.



The Create New World page opens.



3. In the World Name text box, enter the name you like and then click the Create New World button at the bottom of the screen.



The game cheats feature is activated and increases or decreases the difficulty of the game when you play, and also switches between Creative mode and Adventure mode. Cheats allow you to have more control over the game when you're just getting started.



After you have created your world, the game automatically begins by creating the environment and placing your avatar (character) within it.



Selecting the correct game mode in Minecraft



Survival - after randomly being created in a new environment players are required to attempt to survive by collecting materials for shelter, building shelters while gaining experience and fighting against hostile mobs. Creative The game mode lets players instantly access all blocks and other items, be invulnerable to death, and fly. The aim of this game mode is to create/design unique worlds. Adventure players interact with objects (levers and buttons) and mobs in order to complete their adventure. Spectator is inaccessible to all and is unable to interact with entities, blocks, or your own inventory. This mode is typically used to watch the creations of other players. Hardcore Similar to survival mode, Hardcore is set to the "hard" difficulty level permanently and players cannot return to the game; after you die the map is erased (or you become permanently a spectator).
