Why is Boris Johnson so clearly headed for the top job? Well the simple reason is he is a winner. Those Tory MP's currently underwater and at risk of losing their seat at the next election are very worried. They are starting to wonder if a new leader might be a good idea after all. David Cameron has so far not delivered the goods he was elected for. With the premiership half gone it would take a lot to reverse the Tory decline.

Considering only our own personal interests and voting accordingly makes us "egocentric." Here is a hint: that means "selfish!" (for readers of my blog, that corresponds with the "Lawless" level.) It also means we don't have much compassion for anyone outside of ourselves. I contend that the critical mass of this nation has grown beyond this stage of existence. I contend that more people than not have matured to a point where they can consider the needs of others - in life in general as in voting. So let's not just vote according to our own personal interests.

It lasts from early January until June a total of six months. And there was a total of 10 months of campaigning before the voting even started.

The Maverick, while touting his plan to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, wants to implement a 50 cent per gallon gas tax to curb emissions. A plan that was originally brought up by lefty Carl Levin and backed by every Al Gore fan boy.

Also in the BCRA was the rule that advertisements paid for by a corporation (including non-profit organizations) could not use a candidates name within 30 days of a primary and 60 days of a general election. In effect the bill limited free speech, throwing out the first amendment and putting set rules on the speech of an organization. Sounds like big government to me.

Rick Scott Wins Florida Governor's Race:: Rick Scott re-wrote the rulebook to Florida Politics. It was awkward but in the end, Florida chose to elect a the businessman who touted his job creating experience. Who built a company from nothing. He knew attacking the President was the route to the Governor's mansion. He ducked Newspaper Op-Ed boards and didn't talk to the media if it wasn't a friendly set up. Billion dollar medical fraud? Yeah, but visit here was like sooo long ago..

Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, and John McCain all announced their hopes for the presidency well over a year ago. That may be the reason that two of those three have since dropped out.
