Minecraft Honey Block Guide: Here's how Minecraft's Sweet new Offering Works

Minecraft just got a whole lot sweeter with the addition of Minecraft honey blocks to Java. The blocky addition comes in the most recent snapshot of Java's upcoming 1.15 update, and already has a ton of useful applications, such as fall damage reduction, and also creating an enormous conveyor belt of golden sticky.



You can now make an attractive honeycomb-block by using the updated version. This is not meant to be confused with the honey block itself. There are many uses for honey blocks in Minecraft. Here's a brief list of what we know about honey blocks:

Blocks stick to other blocks: Honey block is a stick to all blocks, including Minecraft slime blocks. Reduces jump height. You can still fly through the air however, not as high as a normal block. Transportation Honey blocks can be used to create conveyor belts. If a honey block is pushed by a piston, you'll adhere to the block. This is also true for mobs.



If you place a honey block in a 1x1 hole and then any mob that falls in won't be able to escape because of the gooey substance on their feet - even when the honey block is concealed by carpet or the trap door. This kind of trap can be used to trick acquaintances, but also helps to prevent livestock and villager from wandering off when they are required to remain in one location.

Honey's fun doesn't stop there. Many imaginative players have designed Minecraft parkour maps with honey blocks. They use the block’s sticky properties to glide through the walls of a glutinous Amber at high speeds.
