Chris Oyakhilome Biography: The Man, The Mentor, The Teacher and The Philanthropist

Pastor, faith healer, writer, and TV host, Chris Oyakhilome, known by his followers as Pastor Chris, is the president and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, also called Christ Embassy, based in Lagos, Nigeria. His unique and inspirational telling of God’s Word has inspired thousands of people across the globe.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on December 7 7 1963 in Edo State, Nigeria, grew up in a family that was a faith-based one, and was surrounded by his loving and dedicated parents. He is the son of the elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the first pioneers of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City. Angelina and the matriarch Oyakhilome were also his parents. The divine grace of her mother was passed on to her son in the early years of his life.

The LoveWorld ministry includes all members of the family. His brother Reverend Ken is the highly regarded pastor of Christ Embassy's Houston, Texas Church and a member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council, and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which houses a variety of top gospel artists in the world.

Pastor Chris has two daughters, Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon has chosen the route of her father in sharing the Gospel of God to the world. Also known as CSO She is a Grammy-winning gospel artist and a member of LoveWorld Music and Arts.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome started his education at Edo College. Then he was awarded a scholarship to pursue studies at Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University. There he graduated with a BSc. in Architecture and an honorary Doctor of Science. He is also a doctoral honorary from Benson Idahosa University in divinity. Ambrose Ali University was his first university. He received a call from God to enter the ministry and to serve the Lord.

Under the leadership of Pastor Chris, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LoveWorldSAT broadcast the first Christian television station that reaches from Africa across the world of the world, 24/7 via free-toair networks. There are LoveWorld satellite and cable television stations all over the globe.


Christ Embassy has strong presence in Pastor Chris's home country of Nigeria, South Africa and Canada. The ministry also has two Healing School in South Africa, Canada and the United States, where Pastor Chris is the instructor for seasonal sessions in which miracles are possible.

Music and Gospel Music are an important part of worship. Pastor Chris is a strong advocate for Christ Embassy Churches and Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry choir training. A lot of these vocalists have been successful as soloists under Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's supervision.
