MIAMI(CBSMiami), Ukraine war might be on the opposite side of the planet, but South Floridians can aid those who are fleeing.
Many members of the Sunny Isles Jewish communities are currently raising funds and helping in coordinating a massive humanitarian effort.
Marsha Jaquays of Florida Friends of Laniado Hospital said that "just last night, 1100 patients came."
Emmanuil Grinshpun She explained that more than two million Ukrainian refugees are fleeing war-torn nations. Many of them traverse Moldova that borders Ukraine.
Jaquays explained that Moldova's Jewish community actually helped people cross the border. They then provided food, shelter, clothes and other clothing.
A large portion of the humanitarian effort is being spearheaded from right here in South Florida from Sunny Isles.

It is also reported that Moldova is among the least developed countries in Europe. This makes it more difficult. Those who are part in this cause insist that they will not allow anything to stop them from helping.
Emmanuil Grinshpun Grinshpun explained, "When brothers and sister from Ukraine arrived, we didn't need to think. We started to do it."
Jaquays are a reflection of the sentiments
