Technoblade, 'Minecraft' YouTube Creator, Dies Aged 23

Technoblade, top Minecraft YouTuber, has died aged 23 following a battle with cancer.



The creator's father posted a moving video on YouTube on Thursday titled "so long nerds" with an inscription written by Technoblade himself. The father of the creator said that the video was made in collaboration with his family during his final days. However, Technoblade wrote it eight hours before his death. He revealed his real name in the message: Alex.



"Hello everyone, Technoblade here. This is what you should be seeing. He wrote, "I am dead," in a message that was read by his father. "Thank you all for your continued support of my work over the years. If I had another hundred lives I'm pretty sure I'd choose to be Technoblade each time because those were the most joyful years of my life."



His father stated in the video that he was "the most beautiful child anyone could ever wish for." I miss Technoblade."



Technoblade who has 10.8 million subscribers on YouTube, told them of his diagnosis of cancer on the platform in August 2021.



Technoblade's family released an announcement at the conclusion of Thursday's video.

Technoblade's online store also has a message paying tribute to the singer, stating that a percentage of the profits from online purchases will be donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. "This online store is being run by Technoblade's family. We are thankful for the joy he's brought us throughout the years, and we want to continue spreading his message," it says.

One of the items in the online store is an unisex black T-shirt available with the words "so long nerds" followed by "Alexander Technoblade"" and "1999-2022" beneath.



Technoblade's friends and fans have also shared touching tributes online to him. Some are collaborators and co-creators with Technoblade and others have watched the YouTuber for a long time.



Hypixel, a Minecraft server for minigames, has also posted an impressive tribute. He was a frequent player on that server. Simon Collins-Laflamme who was the chief executive officer and founder of Technoblade has stated in an announcement that he was "one of the most adored YouTubers".



"He will be remembered fondly and will be missed deeply," the post read. "He was a generous and talented young man with extraordinary potential. We are extremely grateful to him and grateful to have had him be such a prominent part of the larger community. Technoblade's success is in a variety of ways tied to our success.



The team also advised users to pay tribute on "any main lobby" on the server, with the consent of Technoblade's family.



Technoblade launched his channel in 2013, and quickly gained acclaim. He's been dubbed "one of the top Minecraft players in the content creator space".
