Noong nakaraang linggo, inihayag ng Philippine Baking Industry Group (PhilBaking) na tataas ang presyo ng pandesal at Pinoy Tasty. Ang bawat piraso ng pandesal ay magiging P2.55 na mula sa dating P2.35. Pati ang Pinoy Tasty ay tataas din mula sa dating P35.00 ay magiging P38.00 na. Ang pagtaas ng pandesal at Pinoy Tasty ay dahil sa pagtaas ng presyo ng arina, asukal at pati LPG. Ayon pa sa PhilBaking, ang 25-kilo bag ng arina ay P995 na mula sa dating P690.
Pero hindi lamang pala pandesal at Pinoy Tasty ang tataas kundi halos lahat na ng pangunahing pangangailangan ng Pinoys. Ayon sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), inaprubahan nila ang pagtataas ng presyo ng sardinas, instant noodles, karne, corned beef, meat loaf, gatas, naka-botelyang inuming tubig, sabong pampaligo, sabong panlaba, battery, kandila at marami pang iba.
Ayon kay Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez ang pagtataas sa presyo ay inaprubahan dahil sa mataas na gastos sa produksiyon. Ganunman, pinaalalahanan ni Lopez ang mga kompanya na dapat ay justified ang pagtataas at protektado ang consumers.
Tuloy na tuloy na sa susunod na buwan ang taas presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin. Wala nang makakapigil sapagkat inaprubahan na ng pamahalaan. Kawawa ang mga kakarampot ang kinikita at naapektuhan ng lockdown dahil sa pandemya.
