1.Berdasarkan tujuannya, Psikologi dibedakan atas Psikologi teoritis dan Psikologi praktis.
* Psikologi Teoritis adalah Psikologi dipelajari dengan tujuan untuk mengembangkan ilmu.
* Psikologi praktis dipelajari dengan tujuan untuk kebutuhan praktis, Khususnya problem solving.
2. psikologi adalah ilmu pengetahuan yang mempelajari tentang perilaku atau aktivitas- aktifititas yg merupakan manifestasi atas penjelmaan kejiwaan manusia.
3. termasuk Psikologi khusus yaitu Psikologi Konseling & Klinis, Psikologi Eksperimen, Behavioral Neuroscience & Comparative Psychology, Psikologi Perkembangan, dan Psikologi Sosial.
4. *Psikologi Metafisika adalah psikologi yg menyelidiki hakikat jiwa seperti yg dilakukan plato dan aritoteles.
*Psikologi Empiris adalah psikologi yg menyelidiki gejala-gejala kejiwaan dan tingkah laku manusia dgn mengunakan pengamatan, percobaan & eksperimen & pengumpulan berbagai data yg dihubungkan dengan gejala-gejala kejiwaan manusia.
5. menurut saya, Psikologi adalah ilmu yg mempelajari tentang kejiwaan baik sifat, tindakan maupun tingkah laku seseorang. Psikologi juga dapat dikatakan salah satu unsur yg berperngaruh dalam perkembangan manusia baik secara fisik maupun mental. Psikologi itu sendiri mengetahui bagaimana tingkah laku ataupun sifat dari manusia yg dipengaruhi atau berpengaruh dari lingkungan atau terhadap lingkungan disekitar.
