This is neat. We suspect the responsible parties will not be mentioning the likes of Lego and Minecraft in their press materials, so we'll have to include it in this article. The conceit here is pretty simple: Blokify is an iOS application that offers a 3D world where you can build models with cubes -- things like castles, spacecrafts, and pirate ships. After you're finished printing, you can print models at home or via the cloud using 3D Systems' Cubify service (using the company's ProJet 660PRo). The app for the iPhone and iPad is free, but additional kits and parts are available as an in-app purchase. Professional printing is available as well, with prices dependent on the size of the set you design. The App Store link is listed below. We played with it earlier in the day It's exciting and fun even if we're not quite ready to drop the cash to make our tiny castle a reality.
