Eight popular light-up shoes sold at Big W are being immediately recalled
Product Safety Australia has recalled the Caprice Australia's light up thongs over concerns the two batteries pose a potential safety hazard to young children.
The thongs come in variety of themes, including Barbie, Frozen, Spiderman, Star Wars, L.O.L Surprise! OMG and Minecraft.

PSA said that the tiny battery compartment in the thongs may be exposed in time, making access to the two small buttons more accessible to children.
'If young children gain access to the button batteries and consume them, they could be afflicted with severe internal burns, which can result in grave illness or even death as well,' the report said.
The batteries in button batteries also pose a choking hazard to young children.'
The thongs are available online and in-store at Big W from September 7, 2020. However, they haven't been sold since May 11, 2022.

The thongs are available online and in-store at Big W from September 7, 2020, but they haven't been sold since May 11, 2022.
Customers are asked to stop wearing the shoes and return them to Big W Australia for a full refund.
