According to inews24 Electronics Extreme, a Thai Online Gaming Company, was the new publisher who was granted the rights by Gravity (Ragnarok’s original publisher) in order to relaunch Ragnarok Online. The relaunch included some countries, including the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.

Let's discuss Ragnarok Online's return to Southeast Asia. With rumored approximately 1 million dollars of licensing agreement, Gravity Corporation hope that the new publisher Electronics Extreme will revive the nostalgic memories of the original Ragnarok to gamers, especially Filipinos. The popularity of Philippine Ragnarok Online, which was launched in 2003 is due to its well-balanced gameplay and a vibrant community. Despite some criticisms about the character graphics, many Filipinos still enjoyed the game. And I remember also(even even though I never played the game, I always watch my cousin playing) prior to being able to access and play Ragnarok Online, you need some load cards to be filled up. The Filipinos are so enthusiastic about the game that they pay a lot for it.
In March 2015 the glory days of Philippine Ragnarok Online was ended and it shut down its server due to its declining sales. I believe that the reason for this decline is the increasing the popularity of mobile games. These games are more appealing and more accessible. Ragnarok players are unable to discover the nostalgic appeal of Ragnarok MMORPG. In the midst of the waning glory days of Ragnarok, Filipinos find a way to revive Ragnarok by forming or joining private servers.
