Gamescom 2022 will see new details for Minecraft Legends and Sega's Sonic Frontiers, and likely reveal more information about Modern Warfare 2 and Bethesda's upcoming space RPG Starfield. It's the first live Gamescom since the year 2019. However, you can still catch the opening night stream, hosted by Geoff Keighley, from the ease of your home computer. Here's how you can watch Gamescom 2022.
Gamescom 2022 begins on August 23rd. If you're in the UK, it starts at 7pm. Viewers from the US East Coast can tune in at 2PM. PT viewers can start at 11AM.
The most important, confirmed information is the release of more details and hopefully more gameplay footage from Sonic Frontiers. But host Geoff Keighley also confirmed that the Gamescom Opening Show will feature "30+ Games" It's possible that 2022's biggest releases as well as 2023's will be teased.
Call of Duty: Vanguard got an extra gameplay trailer during last year's event, so Modern Warfare 2 seems like an ideal choice for this year - be sure to read our guide to the Modern Warfare 2 beta release date and how to play. There's also the possibility of FIFA 23, God of War: Ragnarok and the new survival horror The Callisto Protocol. Minecraft-server-list Our personal most-wanted items include Dead Space Resident Evil 4's remake and Starfield. But for the moment, we can only speculate and hope.
The opening event will be streamed live on the official Game Awards YouTube and Twitch channels. As well as the above dates it's worth tuning in an hour early, as previous events have included the pre-show, which often, has announcements and brand new gameplay footage. You can still buy tickets on the official website if intend to travel to Cologne, Germany. Xbox will have its own stream during Gamescom where it is scheduled to stream Minecraft Legends and A Plague Tale : Requiem. You can watch that via any of the Xbox social channels including YouTube.
