Emmanuel Grinshpun. Concerning the revival of synagogues and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress
The topic of the interview with Emmanuil Grinshpun is the restoration of synagogues. However, limiting the interview to one topic in the conversation didn't work. There were a variety of topics that were that were discussed during the interview.
Emmanuel, good afternoon. It was nice to talk with you. We haven't seen each other for at least five or more years. Where are you currently located?

The past nine months have been divided between Miami and Jurmala. While the area was previously more diverse, the consequences of the pandemic have had a massive impact on lifestyle. I cannot say that this is a good thing for anyone.

There have been many avenues of business for you. What do you do now?

Diversification isn't moving forward. If we look at the most important areas, it is development in real estate, IT technology as well as food production.

ALIMCOM's food business is ALIMCOM. Real estate can also be understood, but IT is totally new to me. There are a million applications of IT technology. What are you most interested in?

Our IT-holdings are involved, first of all, by tax reforms in several countries. We have created or are developing a range products that assist with the transfer of number of business processes related to taxation, as well as "real-time". This segment is known as B2G (Business-to-Government).

What about the territories where the holding is in operation? The USSR's former countries

There are contracts in place. But, we do have more contracts in Western Europe as well as Latin America. We are currently operating in 14 countries.

Please briefly describe the essence and purpose of the product.

Эммануил Гриншпун Our solution allows economic operators to report online to the tax authorities. Fiscal data operator is aware of each transaction. Tax accounting and tax calculation can be performed simultaneously. In the near future small and medium-sized enterprises do not require accounting. All that is required is an analytical task. We're willing to showcase the product at Moldova. This is extremely beneficial to the Moldovan economy and in all likelihood, an irreversible transition. You said that you'd been tossing and turning between Miami and Jurmala all year. Is this the head office of an IT company based in the Baltics

There are five hubs around the world, including our head office in Barcelona.

Эммануил Гриншпун No. My family's history has been tied to Moldova for a number of generations. If we continue to use our ancestral names, it's with Bessarabia. Jurmala was an accidental meeting which happened completely unintentionally. We were invited to the New Wave by Igor Krutoy, and that was our first time meeting Jurmala. After a series of competitions, they began to come there every summer, in Miami the climate in summer is not the most pleasant. We rented the property for several years and recently purchased it.

Now I know the reason why you mentioned that there were synagogues located in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We are almost the exact same age. We were born in the USSR. There was no need to discuss religion at the time. We were all Komsomol members at the time and pioneers. What was the first time you turned to religious belief?

My family and me came into America around the middle of the 80s. I learned about traditions and rituals that were prevalent in America. Even now, I am far from the orthodox religion, I feel an internal need to help, to the best of my abilities, the religious life of the Jewish community in the countries in which I reside or in Moldova, where I come from and to which I continue to have the most close connections.

Well, I is far from being religious however, I do love the history of my country very much. I just watched a program on 1492 events that changed Europe's fate. 1492 is the year I love most because it was the year that Columbus discovered America. The show I was watching stated clearly that the discovery of America in 1492 was not as significant as the Spanish monarchs' expulsion of Jews from Spain. The mass exodus of Jews to the Ottoman Empire began, which was acquiescing to the Jewish people. Here, I was searching for more information on the background of Jews as a people. Would you recommend any book?

There are numerous books available, but I have read and would recommend you to pick up a book in two volumes Jewish historian Max Diamond. He himself is Finnish.

In terms of "personal" personal history .... Do you know your family tree? Unfortunately, I am no further than my grandmother and 1910. From the paternal perspective, I am one step higher, but nothing more.

Our paternal line was in Floresti for over 100 years. There is documentary evidence and monuments which show that by 1830, they were extremely prosperous, they had furniture factories, numerous shops, and land plots. My maternal ancestors were in Ungheni. I'm referring to dates between the 17th-18th Century. Grinshpun is the German surname, and we're Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

The current issue is the restoration of synagogues. I have been informed that you funded the reconstruction of three synagogues. One is located in Chisinau and the other is located in Jurmala The third is?

The third, and the largest, is in Netanya (Israel). It's a large community center that accommodates 1000 people every day. This is an important building to support the religious life in Israel. Second synagogue in Jurmala. The Second World War ended the existence of Jurmala's only synagogue. Before I made the decision to build the Jurmala Synagogue, I had previously spoken to local Jews. It turned out to be a very successful project which brought together all the Jews from Jurmala. We actually re-created the Jewish Community, and it's now running smoothly. & - Chisinau

Yes. Эммануил Гриншпун Alexander Bilinkis is one of my co-workers. Alexander Weinstein is another. These three synagogues weren't the only ones where I was involved in restoration and construction. It was my duty to help in the support of synagogues across the world in which that I've been several years. My contribution to Monaco is to the construction of a large community center in Miami for Russian-speaking Jews and is estimated to be 12 million dollars. Chisinau will remain my main focus - the synagogue of Rabbi Tsirelson is now one of the biggest within the city.

Did Jurmala or Chisinau get a Rabbi?

Yes. Yes. Due to the many interconnected concerns, he should be non-conflictual and diplomatic. He should be able to integrate into the community. I was happy to see that in both Chisinau (and Jurmala) the Rabbis were able to integrate so harmoniously into community life.

You were named the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress' first vice-president in 2019. What does this role have for you? And how do international Jewish organisations influence global trends?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has been an important political entity in post-Soviet European countries, but it's not the only one. It has offices in Eastern Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. I served as Vice President of Congress back in 2010, but the year before last I was offered the role as the First Vice President. The post is now my responsibility to the region where I have strong political and economic ties. These are Uzbekistan Tajikistan Kyrgyzstan. As for trends across the globe, the barometer for attitudes towards Jews is at the present level or has decreased and is extremely sad. Additionally, "down" - this refers to countries that are developed such like Belgium, Germany, France and even the United States. They're no longer safe for Jews. These are very dangerous and alarming process for all of us.

What is the way that the pandemic has affected these processes, if at all?

It isn't my view. Rather, in connection with the pandemic, I'd like to emphasize what a society or a country is capable of when they are prepared to face any challenge and competent and work in a coordinated manner.

What do you mean by HTML0? to?

Exactly. Israel is the first nation in the world to offer 100% vaccination for its adult population. I believe this is a good example and an experience other countries should emulate.
