Minecraft's player count continues to climb on its ascending trend

How many Minecraft players do you have in your life? Minecraft may be the biggest game on the planet today, and the latest numbers of players indicate that it's bigger than nearly every country in the world.
It's not a surprise that Minecraft has hit a number of milestones during its 11th anniversary this year, including more than 200 million copies of Minecraft sold as of May 2020, which is an increase of 24 million copies from the previous year. It's been a big year for Minecraft, with the rollout of Minecraft Earth and the launch of Mojang's action-RPG standalone, Minecraft Dungeons.

Mojang's studio head Helen Chiang says in a blog post as she examines the last year of Minecraft, that "126 million people are playing Minecraft every month." Chiang says, "What we find is it's a game that players keep returning to." "It may not always be the most well-known, as there are many good games, but it's one that players love to revisit."
Minecraft has reached 480 million users worldwide in 2019, due to both paid sales and registered accounts for the free to play version in China. Analyst Daniel Ahmad noted that the Chinese version was released in 2017 and has since attracted more than 300 million players. The paid version has sold 180 million copies around the world. This makes Minecraft the third-largest nation in the world, just behind China and India.
