How to Control a Cat In Minecraft

Building farms, homes and dungeons with Minecraft is a blast , but what's a dream world without your favorite feline friend? If you want an animal companion to play with or wait for you when you return home from an exhausting day of mining for diamonds, you can tame a pet that wanders around.

Where to find cats



There aren't any animal rescue centers in Minecraft. You'll have to find a kitten to take home in the wild. Cats are easy to find. Stray cats breed in villages with at minimum one villager and four beds. For each four beds in a village cats will produce (up to 10), so you'll likely have a range of colors to pick from in an average village.



Black cats can also be seen in swamps and around witch's huts.



The Bedrock Edition is the most well-known version and comes with black cats that are more likely be born during full moons.



How do you control a cat?



Step 1: To tame the cat, first gather some raw cod or salmon from nearby rivers or lakes.



Step 2: Equip the raw fish and slowly approach an uninvolved cat. Apply the raw fish to the cat that is skeptical.



Step 3: Continue feeding the cat with raw fish until it has hearts above its head. This is a sign that it is being tamed. It may need to be fed several times before it starts to get used to you. So make sure to stock up on fish before attempting this.



Step 4: When the cat has had enough food the heart will cease to exist. The cat will be given an appropriate collar. Now you have an animal companion!

After you've successfully tamed a cat and it follows you wherever you go. If you get lost in the midst of your cat, don't worry they'll teleport to a player who moves 12 blocks away. Trained cats are not able to remain still unless instructed to. They will wander around the space around the player unless they are instructed to. You can tell your cat to sit and make it stay in one place -- if you wanted an indoor cat to remain within your home, for instance.

Cats will often climb on top furniture when they are inside a house. Cats can often be found sitting on top of furnaces, beds and chests. Like real-life cats cat breeds, cats in Minecraft can sometimes get in your way and make furnaces, chests and other items., unusable until you get them moved. If they get into something you don't want them to play with, you can push them away, lure them away using raw fish, or take away blocks beneath the surface to help them move.



When a player is asleep at night, there's a possibility that the cat that is tamed will sleep near them. If they wake it is possible that the cat's owner will have an offer for you - they could bring strings raw chicken, a rabbit's foot, and many other items.
