What is a glyphosate herbicide and how does it work?
Glyphosate ("ingredient name "glyphosateisopropylamine-salt") is an herbicide used extensively in agriculture and gardening throughout the world and in particular Japan. It is absorbed from leaf and stem greens, migrates towards the roots and then withers the entire plant. The plants die when the herbicide has been applied to leaves. A lot of pesticide companies sell herbicides that contain glyphosate since the patent time period for these ingredients is over. Of of course, all glyphosate herbicides that are available are safe products that have been tested by rigorous testing.
Glyphosate, which is lower toxicity to livestock due to an enzyme inhibitor in plants (not present in animals), is one of its characteristics. In addition, when the chemical solution comes into contact with the soil, it turns into a food source for microorganisms, and it is separated into water, carbon dioxide, etc. This is also distinguished by the fact that no herbicidal ingredients remain. It is a renowned pesticide that is widely used worldwide, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions because it allows no-tillage agriculture.
Glyphosate is a component of tapwater.
Tap water is safe
Is there glyphosate in tap water?
Weekly Shincho stated in April 2020 that "In Japan, there's no normal value left for glyphosate present in drinking water. There is only the value that is targeted." This number is higher than the values of other pesticides or countries. This also includes drinking water that is affected by pesticides. I have written an article stating that there is. This has led to fears that tap water may have high levels of Glyphosate. This content is inaccurate.
First, glyphosate does NOT have a standard or target value. This is because the concentration of more than 0.2ppm that is one is not detected in tap water. In fact, in a survey by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, there are no instances of glyphosate found in tap water in Japan with a concentration exceeding 0.02 ppm. There is no danger of being detected.
Furthermore, the soil degrades the glyphosate in a manner that is halving over two days. This means that it will be absorbed into tap water and water sources at the same rate and will not be a source of pollution.
Japanese tap water is safe
The tap water of Japan is known to be safe throughout the world. Tap water is drinkable in its entirety. There are 51 inspection items that must be passed before tap water is sold. グリホサート グリホサート The water is under strict quality control , as required by law. グリホサート The difference in pH of water determines if it is neutral, acidic or alkaline. Japan's water quality standards require tap water to be near neutral (5.8+ and 8.6+). You can still drink iron corrosion if the pipes around your home are damaged.
How is tap water produced? Tap water is made using mainly surface water like dam lakes and river water for raw water. After purifying the water by adding chlorine, it is then added to sterilize it. The tap water is then piped to homes.
Story about Japanese pesticide residue standard value
Japan's glyphosate standard value for wheat is currently 5ppm. グリホサート But it was 5ppm prior to December 2017. グリホサート Regarding this, there are a variety of opinions like "We loosened it to 30ppm , which was a reduction of 6 times, and we rebuked health damage."
Glyphosate in tap water
The standard residual value for glyphosate is the equivalent to the international standard.
But the truth is we did not reduce the standard. Instead, we changed it to match the residual standard value of international standards. Japan imports large amounts of wheat from South America, Canada, and the United States. The importer, also known as the overseas producer, naturally controls the use of glyphosate at the international standard of 30ppm. If the standard value in Japan is 5ppm, it will be higher than the value of the standard and imports are restricted. This could lead to an increase in the amount of wheat available and also threaten Japanese food. So, we have modified the standard value to meet the international standard. グリホサート Safety isn't an issue in the current standards.
An knowledge of Glyphosate is crucial.
To prevent consumers from being affected emotionally by discussions about pesticide residues, it is important that you are aware of the relevant information. Experts have conducted research that is scientifically based. It is important to avoid letting rumors hinder your daily routine of eating.
