To Survive in this World

You can attempt to survive in the hostile world and create all sorts of items and even just create a huge pink woolly castle simply because you want to it.

Minecraft has two modes, Creative and Survival. Creative is the one in which you can have unlimited amounts of each block, which you can do as you want, Survival challenges you to find the resources yourself in an attempts to defeat the creatures that appear at night in the Minecraft world. MINECRAFT SERVERS To survive in this world, you could make anything from minecarts to swords, jukeboxes to bread and this is where the major issue with Minecraft comes in.

It is hard to be completely immersed in a game that requires you to constantly browse the internet for recipes for crafting. There is no manual in the game. Another problem is the recent addition of potions or enchantments. They appear to be very tinkering and inconsistent, and are generally useless. The way Minecraft functioned prior to the release of full version was that it received regular updates for free that added new features, usually in response to suggestions from players. These updates will now be "expansion packs", which are only available through payment, which I am afraid. Many of these updates in the past were not worth the cost for, so in the event that this happens it will surely detract away from the game. Another problem is the end of the game, which appears very unplanned and the difficulty level of the game sparks highly at this point.

These are just one of the many advantages of this game. One of them is the style of graphics in the game, which means that most computers will not struggle to apply textures and allow for much customization of the game. This is seen through the huge amount of texture packs and mods that are available for the game. Another issue is that there is no in-game method for implementing mods, and players need to be proficient in technical terms in order to use them.

It must of course be mentioned that there is an option for multiplayer in this game, allowing players to join servers with friends ( an application that can be downloaded from Minecraft's website) and create, mine, and build with friends. The only way to join servers is to directly enter the ip address and even though the game saves that server from thereon it is still a bit frustrating that you cannot see a list of available servers that you can join. Certain aspects of the single-player game don't work with multiplayer, which is extremely frustrating for people who wish to explore Minecraft's full potential with other players.

To conclude, Minecraft is a great game with beautiful graphics and a thrilling gameplay, but the numerous flaws it has to offer makes me think that is probably better off in beta for a bit longer to work out the kinks and adjust some of the features within the game. With all of these things in mind, I'm giving Minecraft 7/10. I hope that this review will not be as relevant in a few months due to any updates.
