Gamescom 2022 will feature new details for Minecraft Legends and Sega's Sonic Frontiers and will likely reveal more details about Modern Warfare 2 and Bethesda's upcoming space RPG Starfield. It's the first live Gamescom since 2019, but you can still catch the opening night stream, hosted by Geoff Keighley, from the ease of your home computer. Here's how to watch Gamescom 2022.
Gamescom 2022 starts on August 23rd. If you're in the UK the show starts at 7pm. Viewers on the US East Coast can tune in at 2PM. PT viewers can start at 11 AM.
The most important, and confirmed news is the announcement of more details and hopefully additional gameplay footage from Sonic Frontiers. But host Geoff Keighley also confirmed that the Gamescom Opening Show will include "30+ Games" which means it's possible that 2022's biggest releases and 2023's will be teased.
Call of Duty: Vanguard received a new gameplay trailer at last years event. Modern Warfare 2 seems like an attractive bet for this year's release. Be sure to read our guide to Modern Warfare 2 beta launch date and how you can play. We may also see FIFA 23, God of War: Ragnarok and the coming survival horror The Callisto Protocol. Our top list of most wanted games includes Dead Space The remake of Resident Evil 4, and obviously Starfield, but for now all we can do is speculate and hope.
The official Game Awards YouTube channel and Twitch channel will stream the event live. In addition to the above times it's worth tuning in half an hour earlier, since the previous events have featured an opening show that, sometimes, includes announcements and footage from the latest games. If you're considering traveling to Cologne, Germany, and watching Gamescom in person, you can still buy tickets on the official website of the event. Xbox will also be streaming its own stream during Gamescom and is expected to show Minecraft Legends and A Plague Tale: Requiem. You can view it via any Xbox social network, including YouTube.
