Hackers have criticized the Danish government's plan to recreate the entire nation using the popular computer game Minecraft.

Officials have confirmed that major cities - including Copenhagen which was damaged when users discovered a way to smuggle virtual dynamite, thought to be banned, into the Danish area of the Minecraft world.

Some parts of the city are being rebuilt by the Danish government.

Danish officials acknowledged that "Several large Danish towns were levelled to the ground, and many new structures were constructed all over the place."

The government was the first to fully integrate a country into the massive Minecraft games. It hoped it would make learning more enjoyable for students.

However the claims have since been rejected.

"Entire cities don't bluff to the ground." It's only MINOR regions," Chris Hammekenof Danish GeoData Agency stated.

'We consider that as a nature of playing Minecraft that elements are broken down and new ones are being created.

"We will therefore not relaunch the demonstration of Denmark in Minecraft.

"Occasionally, we'll repair minor areas when buildings are removed and nothing new is being made.'

"We have built Denmark online using Minecraft so that young people could plant their own forest build a riding school, lake, wind turbine, biogas plant, and so forth," said Kirsten Brosbol (Danish Minister of the Environment) at the official launch of the project.

"Pupils believe it is more fun to work with their own house, street and so on.
