Amazon is believed to be working on a phone that has a glasses-free 3D screen that will be released in June.



According to Wall Street Journal reports, the device will make use of retina tracking technology to make images on the screen appear to float above it like a Hologram, and appear three-dimensional from all angles'



The handset will be unveiled in June and then launched in September, the report claims.

After the company's entry into tablet market with Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD which are being shown here by Jeff Bezo, CEO - Amazon is believed to be working on a smartphone with 3D screens.

This would pit it directly against Apple's upcoming iPhone 6, which is also expected to be available in September.



KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also believes the firm will launch a phone.

We predict that Amazon (US) will launch its own brand smartphone in 3-6 months, using the same hardware strategy as used for its e-reader as well as tablet,' he recently wrote.



'The supply chain will start stocking up materials in Q2 2014 for production.'



This is just a few weeks after Fire TV is an internet-connected set-top box that can also double as a gaming console, was introduced by the company.



The box allows users to download TV and films and apps.



You can use a remote controller to play games, or buy an additional controller for around $40.



Mike Frazzini, from Amazon Games said that each game will be priced similarly to a smartphone app, with an average cost of $2.

The games that will be available at launch include Minecraft Driving game Asphalt 8 and first person shooter Sev Zero, created by the games studio double Helix Microsoft purchased recently.



Peter Larsen from Amazon said the company was looking to "invent and simplify" the box.



He said, "It's incredibly powerful and it's incredibly simple."



Amazon would be directly competing with Apple and Google in this move. Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone in September.



Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com CEO and Founder) stated that Fire TV is a tiny device with massive specifications, tons of content, and a price that is a steal.



The service utilizes Amazon's existing Prime TV and film on demand service, in addition to Hulu Plus.



The gadget, costing $99, is targeted at Amazon and Roku's offerings along with google's Chromecast.



The firm said it plans to add more services in the near future.



Prime members in the UK and US already have access to on-demand movies and TV from Amazon.



Speculation about Amazon smartphones began in 2011.
