Article content EDMONTON The Edmonton Oilers online 50/50 raffle has set another record and had to end early because it had exceeded the maximum allowed by the server provider's ticket sales.
Article content The Oilers Entertainment Group says the final estimated jackpot Wednesday is $5.4 million with the lucky winner taking home $2.7 million.

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation will receive the other half of the proceeds from the raffle.
Article content Monday night's raffle for Game 2 of the Oilers-Blackhawks series shamed the previous record for the largest sports raffle, as the pot exceeded $3.2 million.
Toronto Raptors fans held the previous record when the 50/50 draw reached 2 million dollars during the 2019 NBA Finals. This was the year in which the team won the championship.
Game 4 ticket sales will open Friday at 9 a.m. MST. Oilers Entertainment Group states that its 50/50 service online is working to resolve the issue with the maximum number of tickets prior to the game.
"The enthusiasm and support for the 50/50 raffle have been extraordinary and is yet another concrete illustration of Oilers fans' dedication to their community," the company said in an announcement.
"You can expect to see improvement in the very immediate future as we try to achieve another record for the 50/50 ratio."
