FRP grating can be cut on-site using a cutting blade attached to an angle grinder or circular saw. pultruded gratings can also use a handsaw if you prefer.
Cutting FRP grating is easy if done well. FRP can be cut with the same saw that cuts wood. Their key is to use a diamond-tipped blade. If you try to cut fiberglass grating with a regular blade, it will dull quickly.
Different shop tools are available depending on the amount of grating (in square feet) to be cut. However, a heavy-duty rotary saw with a stone, carbide, or diamond-coated blade will give the best results. Once the grate is measured, the plywood acts as a guide. Make sure the panel is securely fastened so that it does not shift. Having the panel "bottom side up" allows the saw to ride on a smoother surface and reduces chipping. To cut curves and angles, you can use a reciprocating saw or jigsaw.
Again, use stone, carbide, or diamond-coated blades.
Note: When measuring, make sure there is a 3/16 inch allowance in the cut edge of the blade.
