All you Need to be Aware of the Massive Caves and Cliffs Update

Minecraft is now much larger with new mobs, blocks and more. Caves & Cliffs Part 1 is now available so you can finally get in there and begin mining.

After months of preparation, part one of Caves & Cliffs has finally arrived.

Caves & Cliffs Part One Release Date



In some surprising news, we finally saw the release date of the most recent update. It will be available for both Bedrock and Java on the 8th of June, which is today.



This makes sense to drop just a week before E3 so that people can relax and enjoy it without all the game announcements. You can still play it right now.



Pre-release launch



The last snapshot was removed for the update. The reason was an unanticipated issue. We finally received a prerelease of Caves and Cliffs.



Sliced Lime Minecraft's technology lead announced the news via Twitter. This was the first pre-release and an essential element of development leading to today.



An Update on the Mobs



In the most recent episode of Caves & Cliffs Special, the team on Minecraft discuss the Glow Squid, Axolotl and the Goat.



This is a clear sign of passion for Caves & Cliffs but it also shows how confidant the team is regarding the latest update

Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Beta lets players test new features and, along with Snapshots aids players to cope with the long wait.

Update 1.17 release date



While the release date for the first part has been set for June 8th, we don't know when it will be released. We have been informed that Caves and Cliffs part one will be released in summer, and part two will be released in the holiday season.



Minecraft players were prepared to wait for a few days between the announcement and the release of the Nether Update. Now, we have an announcement window to know when content will be released.

Caves & Cliffs Update content



Minecraft is set to become even more stunning with more original content for caves or mountains.



New biomes will be created, including beautiful caves that are alive, and dripstone caves that are brimming with stalagmites and stalactites.



Variation in caves is the name of the game. There will still be an old-fashioned feel however, there will be something for everyone with the Caves & Cliffs Update.



There are a lot of new mobs to be found. The terrifying Warden is heading to the darkest, deepest caves.



Along with that monstrous mob will come more friendly ones! Axolotls and goats will be added to water, while the Overworld will be their home on the new mountain ranges.

Caves & Cliffs Update will introduce a new type of mining. Players will carefully search for rare and fragile artifacts brushing dirt away instead of smashing them with the pickaxe.



New ore



Look for the latest copper ore or stunning Amethyst crystal geodes which can be mined to create new crafting materials. The Caves & Cliffs Update will bring you a lot of new crafting blocks and recipes, including sensors for sculk that detect movement, telescopes, lightning rods, leaf platforms and many more.



Lush Caves



A new biome! A lush Caves promise to be alive providing some interest and colour to the caves, along with the risk of tunnelling!



There is a new tree, Azalea, which indicates the location where a Lush Cave is while on the surface.



Spore blossoms, an innovative block that hangs from the roof, emit particles that are similar to those found in New Nether.



There are adorable axolotls in the swimming pools.



Redstone additions



The new sculk block will sense motion and emit an Redstone signal. It's almost like a motion sensor.



This new feature will be amazing when it is used by skilled Redstone engineers since it behaves like wireless Redstone!



This new gang lurks in the deepest caves. The mob has adapted to the darkness, it can detect motion and has fine-tuned hearing, so be aware!

Crystals



These crystals were formed by an unobtainable block. They are stunning and useful. To develop your own recipe, first find the crystals and then build a new recipe around them.



You can create an telescope from the crystal shards! !



Copper is required to build it. It's true, Minecraft is getting a new ore. Copper blocks will turn green with age, just like real life. This gives your world a sense time.



Bundles



The lack of inventory has always been a major issue for Minecraft and, as more blocks are added players have been struggling with carrying items.

The Bundle will fix the issue. It is possible to put many types of items into one Bundle and full stacks of other items as well. This means you can carry one bundle and have 64 cobblestones and 64 iron ingots as well as some flowers in one inventory slot.
