'Minecraft' Adds an Add-on Shop for Mobiles

For many, the most significant drawback of Minecraft's Pocket and Windows 10 Editions has been the absence of community content. What's the point of playing Minecraft on your phone if you cannot play with that awesome new texture pack you spotted on your computer? You're about to have that possibility. Microsoft and Mojang have announced an online Marketplace that lets both Pocket and Windows 10 gamers download content from community creators, such as skins, textures and whole worlds. Top minecraft servers You don't buy any paid content directly -- instead, you buy "Minecraft Coins" which let you buy the add-ons you're looking for. It's ostensibly to help producers determine "flexible prices," although it also can disguise the worth of the content you're purchasing. It's possible that you don't want your children to have unlimited access to the internet.



The Marketplace only accepts creators who have registered businesses, so it won't be able to take your project that's just for fun. However, those who do receive access to the Marketplace have the right to a 70% cut of the revenue. This is comparable to the typical mobile app stores. A successful business will earn a decent amount of money, even if not as much as they might earn through direct sales.



Access to the Marketplace will be limited initially. The beta version of the Marketplace will be made available to the general public in mid-April. There will be no creator content, since that will have to wait until the official launch in spring. But, it should do something to make the difference between your Minecraft experience on your computer and mobile devices.
