Jimmy Donaldson, the creator of the channel, is fifth to reach the huge following benchmark. He comes in after Cocomelon, T-Series and SET India, as well as the only account that is owned by a person: PewDiePie. "100 million means so much. I've been making videos since I was 11," said Donaldson in the press release. "This number in a way represents everything I've ever done in my life and I'm extremely grateful to anyone who's ever viewed the video. I'd like to keep doing YouTube until the day I die."
Donaldson has been posting YouTube videos since 2012, with his first video ever uploaded to his main channel featuring his playing Minecraft. His videos started to grow in popularity when he began creating content that featured him giving large sums of money to strangers. Since the time, his videos have evolved to take on shock-inducing challenges, like not eating for 30 days or creating a true life Squid Game.
To commemorate this milestone in his career, MrBeast will - of course - release new merch, made exclusively available for purchase via YouTube's Live Shopping feature. He's also planning on releasing one of his most expensive videos to date on August 4 - simply because when you're the most subscribed YouTube creator, you probably have the funds to support some of the most expensive content.
