Immersive Portals was released in 2019 however it has been updated frequently since. Fabric API is used to create the mod, which adds several cool features. One of them is the ability to actually see through portals, which makes the whole thing feel more connected. However, you can also build your portals to be horizontal or have different designs.
Mirrors can be used to create two-way portals in overworld. You can even cover the entire world in special portals that permit endless repetition of space to create mind-altering effects.
