Technoblade, Popular Minecraft Creator Died of Cancer at 23

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade one of the top YouTube creator who is a specialist in Minecraft let's play videos, has died one year after he was diagnosed with an illness that was cancerous, according to a statement from his family. He was 23 years old.



In an emotional YouTube video that was posted on Technoblade's channel Thursday, the YouTuber's father announced that his son had died. "He was the most amazing kid you could ever want," his father said. "I am so sorry for Technoblade."



The video, which was uploaded on Thursday and titled "so long nerds," included a posthumous message from the creator to his fans that was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. Technoblade's message revealed his real name was Alex. "Thank you all for supporting my work over the years. I believe Technoblade would be my first choice in the event that I had another hundred lives. These were the most joyful years of my life.



On Technoblade's store online there is a message that reads "In honor of his memory, a portion of proceeds from all online purchases will be donated to an amazing organization known as curesarcoma.org," linking to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.



Technoblade, whose online avatar was a crowned king pig, currently has 10.8 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. "I play too many video games. I might not be the best, but I do have hot elbows," his YouTube bio reads.



The video was posted on Thursday with the following statement: "We, the Technoblade family, wanted you all know how much he loved and respected his fans. From Technoblade's earliest online days the founder was always thinking of ways to please and reward his followers. He managed to retain his good-natured humility despite his success, and compete with a charming balance between his confidence and his self-deprecating humor. He avoided personal fame and was determined to keep his identity confidential, and we request that you respect his wishes to safeguard his privacy and the privacy of his family."



The statement continued, "This past year has seen a number of difficult times for our son as he battled cancer of the stage four. He never complained and continued to use his strategic mind to beat what he believed was almost impossible odds. My son's bravery in this situation was a shining lesson to all of us who had the privilege to be able to walk with him. We are thankful that you shared his journey with us, while he worked hard to do the work that he loved for his beloved fans.



According to his father, Technoblade composed his final message to fans approximately eight hours before he died. The father of Technoblade said that while Technoblade didn't get everything he wanted, he did receive the most important points.



Technoblade revealed his diagnosis of cancer in August 2021. He said he started feeling discomfort in his right arm the previous month, initially believing it was a stress-related injury from gaming. Talk about But after some time, he realized his shoulder was swelling and thought it was a fractured bone. He was later diagnosed with cancer.



After the news of his passing tributes to the late creator were flooding in on social media.
