It's not easy for us commoners to fathom just how much money a billion is. Therefore, if you want to look beyond an amount to comprehend the amount of money Notch gained from selling Minecraft to Microsoft for $2.5 billion (yes billion with the letter B) Just take an e-mail from his Beverly Hills mansion. This is the home Minecraft purchased, folks say, a $70 million home with its own cinema that is controlled by iPads, fountains with an iPad, automated glass doors, a panoramic view of LA and, best of all, a sweet room, which is exactly what it seems to be. This includes all the expensive furniture and TVs that measure 90 inches. There are also bottles of Dom Perignon champagne.
Markus Persson (Notch's real name) is believed to have paid cash for the 8-bedroom, 15-bath property, just six days after he had closed the deal. According to Bloomberg, Notch outmaneuvered and beat out interested celebrities, including Jay Z and Beyonce, who toured the house numerous times over the last few months. Jay and Bey are worth $1 billion, and Notch's net worth is estimated to be between $1.5 to $2 billion. We'd look at other pictures of the property on its website, but we're too busy thinking of a billion-dollar idea to sell Apple/Microsoft/Facebook in the future.
