A Norwegian company has become the first to set up an office within the virtual world of Minecraft.
Oslo-based Heisholt Inc. has purchased office space and land on an online server of the computer game.

The founder of the company Erik Heisholt said it will host client meetings as part of the game, so that creative minds can get together and share ideas.

Erik Heisholt, the founder of the company, has stated that the company will host client meetings within its business so that innovative minds can come to each other and exchange ideas.
The way people interact, talk, build and create inside Minecraft is packed with power as well as collaboration, intelligence, and creativity,' he told The Local.
'This is an equally important world for millions and millions of people, and we truly believe that we can have fresh discussions that lead to new answers, inside Minecraft.'

'We can use the creative and collaborate nature of the game to solve tackle issues for the good of the community. It's amazing to do this while exploring a completely new world of communication. It also feels like a natural step," he said.

The game was initially made for the PC but there are now Xbox and mobile versions available. The image shows the inside of the office.
The groundbreaking move comes following the company's success in organising the world's first Minecraft concert featuring electronic duo AlunaGeorge.
The couple was together in real life, but their actions were mirrored in the virtual reality.
Posters, billboards and videos were distributed throughout the Minecraft universe to promote the concert beforehand.
