Minecraft Goats How to Breed and Tame Them?

There's been plenty of discussion about the 'caves' aspect of the Minecraft 1.17 update but not much about the 'cliffs' and their latest Minecraft mob goats. We get it. Minecraft axolotls are great underwater companions and could be game changers. The Minecraft Warden on the other hand , is an all-new monster that is completely blind, but is a mighty beast. But wouldn't you think of the goats in Minecraft?

Yes, Minecraft has goats. Finally! There are a variety of varieties of goats that exist in real life, including the ibex that can walk on steep hills and the fainting goat. The Minecraft goats are based on the Rocky Mountain goat (or Oreamnos Americanus) and are well-suited to both alpine as subalpine conditions. They aren't technically goats. Instead, they are more closely connected to antelopes, also known as square-shaped fakers.

Whatever the source of inspiration, they're what we have and at the very least look like the woolly beasts of the mountain tops that we are familiar with and love. This is everything you need to know about Minecraft goats.

Where can you find goats in Minecraft

Goats in Minecraft can be found on top of surfaces with a light level of seven or more, such as cliffs. It isn't apparent that it matters too much whether the cliffs are covered in grass or snow but they do appear to move around more in the daylight hours.

If you're really lucky, you can also encounter screaming goats. The only difference between them and regular goats is their bleats. You'll need to pay attention to locate them.

What do Minecraft goats do?

As we mentioned before they're based off the Rocky Mountain goat - an antelope masquerading as goats for the sake of coolness. It's pretty hard to simulate their unique characteristic: being able to climb high and balance on uneven surfaces.

Instead of jumping one block high, Minecraft goats can jump two blocks high. They can get through small gaps easily and look stunning when they do it. If they encounter a hole in the ground or a snow-covered block, they can jump up to 10 blocks high in the air.

They have 10 health points (5 full hearts) and can take seven hits (3 and a half heart).

The majority of goats are rather docile, and, as CaptainSparklez discovered in the 1.17 beta snapshots, they won't attack you if you hit them first. They will decide that you should be yetched off an incline and then smash your face with a hefty force. Even if they get a little angry without cause it is more likely that they will target enemies to protect you. If threatened by a goat, it will flee from its attacker.

How do I get the Goat Horn?

The Minecraft 1.17 update introduces a brand new item called the goat Horn. You can get up to a maximum of two goat horns each time the goat rams into blocks though they drop one at a. The easiest way to get a goat Horn is to get several goats in one area and then have them charge you. Their horns should fall off if they charge a block.

If you utilize a goat horn you'll make a sound like you're blowing through the horn to trigger an alarm. This is the same sound that you hear when you raid Minecraft villages. What's this noise? There's some speculation that suggests the goat's horn could be used in a future easter egg, however, as of right now the horn makes the sound of raid.

What do Minecraft Goats eat?

In the real world, goats were one of the first animals domesticated for their grass eating, milk producing udders and delicious meat. You can feed them wheat to get them to follow your example. This will put them in love mode and allow you to breed them. You can also make milk by placing an empty bucket on them. If the goat is burning then you can cook mutton or raw meat on them. But who would do such a horrible thing?

They are not able to ride horses like Minecraft's horses. Because of their temperament, they are probably the most loved pet.

Still, there's plenty more to know about what's available in Minecraft through the Caves & Cliffs update and the future updates and we're not only talking about the new mobs. From copper ore, to the Lush Caves, there is something for everyone and more updates are to come when the Minecraft 1.18 update's release date drops.
