Everything you Need to Know about the HUGE Caves and Cliffs Update

Minecraft has just gotten bigger with new mobs, blocks and more. Caves & Cliffs Part 1 is now available so you can finally join the game and start mining.

Caves & Cliffs Part One Release Date



In some surprising news, we finally saw a release date for the latest update. It is available for both Bedrock and Java on the 8th of June, which is today.



It's only natural that it dropped a week before E3 so that people can take it in and not be distracted by all the game announcements. You can still play it right now.



Pre-release



The last snapshot of the update was canceled. This was due to an unexpected issue. However, we finally received a preview of Caves & Cliffs



Over on Twitter, Sliced Lime, the tech lead for Minecraft announced the news. This was the first prerelease and an important part of development that led to today's.



An Update on the Mobs



In the most recent episode of Caves & Cliffs Special, the team on Minecraft discuss the Glow Squid, Axolotl and the Goat.



This enthusiasm is a great indicator about Caves & Cliffs, but it also illustrates how confident the team is regarding the update



Caves and Cliffs Beta



Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Beta lets players test new features. It also, with Snapshots assists players in coping with the long waiting.

Release date for Update 1.17



Although the release date for the first part is set for June 8th, we don't know when it will be released. However, we were informed that Caves and Cliffs Part 1 will be released in the Summer, while part 2 will arrive during the holiday season.



Given the time between the announcement of the Nether Update and its release, Minecraft players were ready to sit patiently for the next big update to the game and we finally have a release date window for when content will be available.

Caves & Cliffs Update content



Minecraft is about to get much more stunning, with more varied and innovative content planned for both mountains and caves.



There will be new biomes including lush caves filled with life and dripstone caves that are filled with stalagmites and stalactites.



Variation in caves is the theme. There will be the classic look, but there should be something for everyone with the Caves & Cliffs Update.



There are many new mobs. The terrifying Warden is coming to deepest, darkest caves.



Along with the monstrous mob, there will be more friendly ones! Axolotls will be added to the water, while goats are expected to join the Overworld on the new mountains!

A new type of mining will arrive with the Caves & Cliffs Update that allows players to carefully remove rare and fragile artefacts by brushing away debris rather than whacking things with a pickaxe.



New ore



Keep an eye out for the brand new copper ore as well as the stunning Amethyst geodes that can be mined to make new crafting materials. With the Caves & Cliffs Update, there are going to be a plethora of new crafting recipes and blocks including sculk sensors that can detect movement and telescopes, lightning rods and leaf platforms, as well as many more.



Lush Caves



A new biome! Lush Caves promise to be alive with life. They will add color and excitement to the caves and also the dangers of tunnelling.

There is a new tree, Azalea, which indicates where a Lush Cave is while on the surface.



Spore blossoms are a new block, a flower that hangs from the roof that releases particles similar to those in new Nether.



You'll see adorable axolotls that live in water pools , too.



Redstone additions



The new sculk block will sense the movement of the block and send out a Redstone signal. Kind of like motion sensors.



This new feature, which plays like wireless Redstone will be awe-inspiring when used by Redstone engineers.



This new gang lurks in the darkest caves. Adapted to the darkness, it is able to sense movement and has fine-tuned hearing, so be aware!

Crystals



From a block that is not available These crystals aren't just beautiful, but they are useful too! To create an entirely new recipe, you must first locate the crystals and then construct a recipe around them.



From the crystals you get fragments that can be used to build a telescope! !



Copper is the primary ingredient needed to make it. It's true that a brand new ore is arriving in Minecraft. Copper blocks will change color with age, just like real life. This adds a sense time to your life.



Bundles



Limited inventory has always been a problem for Minecraft and, as more blocks get added players have been struggling with carrying their belongings.

The Bundle will solve the issue. Bundles can hold multiple types of items, and also large stacks of things. That means you can carry only one Bundle and hold 64 cobblestone, 64 iron ingots, and a few flowers in only one inventory slot!
