Technoblade's iconic crown pig is now part of the game that he adored.
The death of Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade (opens in a new tab) in the last week of his year-long battle with cancer brought many tributes from fellow streamers and Minecraft creators of content. In the days following, Minecraft studio Mojang also paid its respects to Technoblade's streamer by making a subtle, but significant modification to the Minecraft Java Edition loading screen.
Mojang tweeted its own tribute to Technoblade on July 1, the day his death was first announced.
We have been trying to find the words but we all here at Minecraft are devastated by the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought us so much joy. He will be greatly missed. July 1 2022

A short time later, Minecraft fans began noticing an additional and memorable tribute to Technoblade on the Minecraft Java Edition loading page The previously plain pig in the background of the scene is now sporting a crown that is a subtle but distinct reference to Technoblade's famous crowned pig avatar and YouTube (opens in new tab) icon.

Although it is not clear if the change will last at this time I'm sure it will. The Minecraft community is very pleased with the change: The announcement on Twitter from the Techno Updates account has attracted more than 237,000 people to like it.
