Technoblade, 'Minecraft' YouTube Creator, Dies Aged 23

Technoblade, top Minecraft YouTuber, has passed away aged 23 following a battle with cancer.



Technoblade the creator's father posted a touching video to YouTube on Thursday, titled "so long geeks". It also included a message by Technoblade. The father of the creator said that the video was made in collaboration with his family in his final days. However, Technoblade wrote it eight hours before his death. In the message the rapper revealed his real name: Alex.

"Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this. I am dead," he wrote in the message, which was read out by his father. "Thank you to all who have supported my content throughout the years. I am convinced that Technoblade would be my choice if I had another hundred lives. Those were the most joyful years of my life.



In the video, his father said, "He was the most amazing kid you could ever want. I will miss Technoblade."



Technoblade, who has 10.8 millions YouTube subscribers, posted his August 2021 diagnosis of cancer to them on YouTube.



Technoblade's family posted an announcement at the conclusion of Thursday's video.



"We as the Technoblade family, wanted you to know how much he was loved and respected by his colleagues and fans." Since the beginning of Technoblade's online presence He was always thinking of ways to delight and reward his followers," it read.



"Even after his victories however, he maintained his humble and jovial nature. He was a competitor with a charming balance of his self-confidence and self-deprecating. He worked hard to conceal his identity and stayed clear of fame. We ask you to respect his wishes to preserve his privacy as well as that of his family.



Technoblade's online store also includes a message paying tribute to him, explaining that a percentage of the profits from online purchases will be donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. Technoblade's family will run this online store. We are thankful for the joy he has brought us over the years, and we would like to continue spreading his message," it says.



The store's store is now an unisex black T-shirt available with the words "so long nerds," followed by "Alexander Technoblade" and "1999-2022" beneath.



Technoblade's family and friends have also posted incredibly moving tributes to him online. Some are co-creators, some collaborate, and others have been following Technoblade for many years.



Hypixel, an online Minecraft server for minigames, also posted an eloquent tribute to. He was a frequent participant on that server. In a statement, the founder and CEO Simon Collins-Laflamme referred to Technoblade as "one of the most internationally popular YouTubers."



The post said, "He will be remembered with fondness, but will be deeply missed." He was a talented and kind young man with incredible potential. We are extremely grateful to him and are happy to have him as a prominent member of the larger community. Technoblade's success is in a variety of ways dependent on our success.



The team also urged users to pay tribute on "any main lobby" on the server, with the approval of Technoblade's family.



Technoblade started his channel in 2013 and quickly gained acclaim. Technoblade has been called "one the best Minecraft players in content creator space."
